My 7 year-old daughter, whom I affectionately refer to as my best girlfriend, loves to be on the go.
Since my daughter has always been such an active kid, I am happy about the fact that she is now old enough to get involved in various sports and activities of her own.
See up until now our daughter has had to tag along to watch all of her big brother’s games and events, as he is 6 years older than her and heavily involved in sports.
Often times it can be stressful for my husband and I because she would have meltdowns right in the middle of our son’s games. This meant that one of us would have to miss watching our son play at times so that we could find a way to entertain our daughter too.
What To Do When Your Child is Having a Meltdown
One day my son had a longer than usual break in the middle of a basketball tournament and he needed a new water bottle. My daughter was starting to get into meltdown mode from having to sit in the gym for a few hours, so she and I drove over to a local Walmart to pick one up for him.
While we were at Walmart, we headed into the cooker/cracker aisle so she could pick out a special treat.
I grabbed the box off the shelf to inspect the ingredients and was delighted when I saw that TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks contain no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors and no artificial colors.
My daughter gave a two thumbs up when she noticed that TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks were such an adorable and loveable bear-shaped snack.
I definitely approved and told her we could buy a few boxes, especially since they are made with quality ingredients such as milk, eggs and chocolate. Sounds delicious right?
We left Walmart and headed back to watch the rest of my son’s games.
Before we went back inside the gym I let my daughter choose one of the TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks to enjoy outdoors in the sunshine.
Since she really couldn’t decide, plus she seemed to be getting out of meltdown mode thanks to the Walmart trip and her new snack, I let her have one of each.
Meltdown mode officially ended almost instantly after she took her first bite of the TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks. My daughter even wound up carrying the boxes around with her and was occupied throughout the remainder of my son’s game thanks to the back of the TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks box including fun Discovery ideas.
My Top 3 Tips For What To Do When Your Child is Having a Meltdown
- Give them a change of scenery. Sometimes simply taking your child for a quick walk, a trip to a store (like mine and my daughter’s Walmart visit) or even outside to play for a bit helps kids switch gears and focus on something different.
- Provide your child with a snack. Meltdowns are sometime brought on or at least elevated when a child might be hungry. If you are on the go, TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks offer the perfect portability for your child to enjoy a delicious soft baked snack in a playful shape no matter where they may be.
- Inspire some new ideas and creativity within your child. I love that each box of TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks include Discovery ideas on the back so that you can engage and explore with your child.
