Last weekend my family and I had the pleasure of attending one of the most loveliest weddings.
Now you know you really had a good time when its days later and you are still reminiscing over all of the beautiful family fun that was had.
Before I jump right into the fashion part (the actual reason for this post), I first want to share with you how perfect the whole wedding weekend was.
Every detail was expertly planned, including the weather that so graciously cooperated as my cousin and his gorgeous bride exchanged their vows outdoors close to dusk. There was such an overwhelming feeling of love that surrounded the weekend. I even remembered to steal a few loving glances at my dear husband as I noticed him watching my son and I enjoy ourselves on the dance floor during the reception.
There were a few different events, including the rehearsal dinner, that my family got to participate in since my daughter was a flower girl in the wedding. This meant that I would need a couple of new dresses to wear, which I will take just about any excuse to shop.
Unfortunately I procrastinated and waited until only a couple of weeks before the wedding to start looking for some dress options for both the rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding itself.
So that you don’t have to stress over searching for a special occasion dress, especially if its last-minute like me, I wanted to share with you 5 places to find a special occasion dress quickly.
5 Places To Find A Special Occasion Dress Quickly
The classic blue lace overlay dress from designer Cupcakes and Cashmere, which I found within a mere 4 days before the wedding online at Nordstrom, I was lucky enough to snag at 40% off.
I also appreciate that Nordstrom always offers free shipping, but this time it was definitely worth it to pay an additional $15.00 to have the dress overnighted.
Why buy a special occasion dress to wear only once or twice, when you can have the entire runway at your fingertips? Rent the Runway is an incredible service that allows you to basically borrow a designer dress and return it right after your event, all without having to leave your home.
3. Stitch Fix
In case you haven’t heard of or used Stitch Fix before, they are a wonderful personal style service subscription box. Now you no longer need to worry about what to wear to a particular event, because you can simply send your personal stylist a note when scheduling your Fix to let them know exactly where you are going and what kind of clothing/style you wish to wear.
I went to Santa Barbara this past summer for a luxurious event courtesy of Kia, and I ordered a Stitch Fix box beforehand. I made sure to tell my stylist where I was going, staying at and the events I would be attending. I was very excited that my stylist, who happened to be the lovely Tiffany Reese (LookieBoo), sent some perfect pieces like this beautiful maxi dress.
So many amazing fashion brands and deals at fabulous prices. Plus if you are a prime member, you can get your special occasion dress shipped within one or two days.
One of my long time favorite places to search for and purchase special occasion dresses at is Modcloth. They consistently have sales, and if it is your first time ordering from them you will receive 20% off.
Leave a comment and let me know if you have any special occasions coming up to shop for.
